Flexible Silencer
Quiet Airflow for Your Grow Room
Dramatically reduce the noise generated by your extraction system with these German-engineered Flexible Silencers. Designed to significantly reduce noise from air extraction systems, these high-quality, light-weight silencers offer both efficiency and practicality for indoor growers where peace and discretion is important.
Features
- Superior Noise Reduction: Effectively dampens sound vibrations, creating a quieter and more enjoyable environment for you and your plants.
- Flexible Design: At 1 metre in length, these silencers can bend up to 90 degrees, making them ideal for fitting into tight corners or around obstacles in grow rooms and tents.
- Durable Construction: Built with high quality aluminium to ensure long-lasting performance without compromising airflow.
- Optimal Compatibility: Available in all common diameters, these silencers integrate seamlessly with standard-sized air ducts used in a variety of grow spaces.
- Easy Installation: Lightweight and flexible, these silencers are simple to install and position, making upgrades to your ventilation system hassle-free.
Why is my Extraction System Noisy?
When it comes to the noise generated by extraction systems, there are two main sources of noise that growers need to be aware of:
The first is the sound of the fan itself - this is primarily noise generated by the motor spinning, and in the case of AC fans, buzzing is a common issue. Older fans also regularly suffer from misaligned blades and worn out ball-bearings from wear and tear of extended usage. This will slowly inrease the noise generated by the fan as it ages.
Second (and often the most overlooked) is the sound of the air turbulence, generated by the air moving and crashing through the ducting.
How do I Solve it?
Noise generated by the fan itself can be solved by upgrading to a new EC fan, with the Silent versions being the best choice for growers wanting minimal noise. Phresh Hyperfan Stealth, Rhino EC Ultra Silent and UGO Silent EC are the most popular choices out there. EC fans also don't come with the annoying buzzing/humming noise when running at lower speeds (unlike AC Fans), and come with a linear speed controller as standard. This gives growers the power to precisely select their fan speed, avoiding unecessary noise, saving electricity and increasing product lifespan.
When it comes to dealing with the noise generated from turbulence within the ducting, there are two ways to tackle this. Firstly, upgrading ducting to a Ultra Silent version will dampen the noise as it passes through, however some noise will still be present as the air exits the duct system. This is where the silencer shines, acting as a large muffler to deal with the excess noise before it leaves.
Why Choose the Flexible Silencer?
Unlike rigid silencers, flexible silencers offer greater flexibility (pun intended), thanks to their ability to bend to accomodate tight and irregular spaces. Additionally, they can be cut down to a more manageable size if space is limited.
Silencers are most effective if positioned directly after a fan, on a tight bend in duct work, or at the very end of your ducting line. These flexible silencers are airtight and can be used in sealed ventilation and closed-loop systems.
Features
- Effectively reduces noise in ventilation systems
- High quality aluminium, built to last
- Fast and easy to install
- Can be cut down to size
